I'm John Redfern, owner of one of the best teams of Verheyen Hofkens racing pigeons anywhere in the world.

In 1994 I introduced two Bert Braspenning Janssen pigeons into my lofts. These pigeons were an instant success winning many 1st prizes at Club and Fed level. In 2001, I added my first Hofkens stock hen, who bred my 3rd Open National Winner from Tours.

My Hofkens racing pigeons are bred from the original Hofkens imported into the UK in 1986 have a look at the original pedigrees these quality pigeons have produced winner after winner.

Bloomhill Lofts is situated in the semi rural village of Moorends, Doncaster, close to Thorne and Hatfield Moors and the Humberhead Peatlands.

I have been involved with livestock all my life and in 1984 I went to work as Stud Manager for a nationally known horse stud and racing pigeon loft in Leicester.

In 1994, after ten years in the job I decided to return to Moorends and set up my own horse stud with two famous stallions.

It was at this time I also introduced two pairs of Bert Braspenning's Janssen pigeons to restart in the sport of pigeon racing. These were very successful racing pigeons, winning many 1st prizes at Club and Fed level also being the 5^th Champion racing pigeon loft in Great Britain in the Van Roabys competition.

In 2001, I introduced a very good hen of the Hofkens line from my good friends Jackson & Andrews of Howden, East Yorkshire. This hen bred my 3^rd Open National winner from Tours, 438 miles, NW wind.

I have since added many more Hofkens pigeons to my loft and can now boast one of the best teams of Verheyen Hofken racing pigeon teams in the world. All these racing pigeons were bred down from the original imported Hofken pigeons brought into the UK in 1986 please view the pedigrees.
